Nokia to preload Microsoft's Live Messenger on S60, S40 phones

Big coup for Microsoft's ability to reach into the mobile market. Demonstrates the advantage of being able to port your product code to the Symbian platform. Would have been nicer if Skype beat Microsoft to this market, but c'est la guerre.

It would be even nicer if Google Talk had beat them all to it, as it uses an open standard.

Skype comes already pre-loaded with several Nokia phones. They are running iSkoot engine.

This is a nice deal for Microsoft, and this gives them a chance to advance with their mobile strategies. But It should not be taken as a final victory, afterall, the users are still out there to decide. Would they use the Windows Live services? Is the user experience something that is desirable? We can only wait if the user adoption will be something that's phenomenal.

ive been using this for a while now, works pretty good on my n80, they add a new contact tab to display the windows live contacts and also syncs your mailbox with the nokia mail application i dont know if the windows drm part is in yet though
