Tailgate Charger -- Keeping Your Mobile Phone On-The-Job

Recently found on the tailgate of a contractor's truck in my neighborhood:

When you really need a charge.... 12V --> 110V --> ~6V ... and, no, there is no timer involved here ... he's simply clocking time on the job. (Canadians will recognize the Eliminator Booster Power Pack from Canadian Tire.)

Does it work the other way around? Can I jump start a car with my phone?

I got one of those vehicle battery jumpers not two months ago. I guess mine's real high tech, because it has a powered USB port to plug phones and what not on.

I just checked it, it won't charge my Moto V3 (not surprised, since it seems to be a software thing (device driver installed) to actually charge the thing). Maybe I'll get my multimeter out and see what the heck the car adapter for the thing is putting out. Yeah, it has a cigarette lighter port too, so I can still use my car adapter if I need to.

Now I know what to do when I'm bored...
