I have subscribed to Skype's unlimited calling plan with in the US. I am currently traveling out side of the US and I see my calls to US numbers are being charged at ridiculous levels of 6 to 8 cents a minute.
Why is this happening? Any help would be appreciated...

I'have already tested the service in Europe with an unlimited calling plan and it is quite good. For people in Italy and other countries without SkypeIn i suggest to read my blog: http://skypeiskoot.blogspot.com/ in order to get a free Skype virtual number. In this way you can have a landline number diverted to your 3Skypephone.
